Alright so, something looks different here doesn't it?
It's basically the same but something did changed other than the obvious blog name.
Back in March I had the worst of the worst shittiest of experiences and I had to do something to feel like myself again, to be happy. I had to move out of my flat, went through a breakup, almost lost my promotion, my car was nearly impossible to be fixed after a horrible car crash, and none of my friends were living in the country. It was some tough shit.
The blog was obviously the last thing on my mind, I allowed it to just die along with everything from my past as if it belonged to a different life. But the thing is I like to write, it's my thing and I don't want to let it go.
Why the name though? There are a lot of things that I don't value as much as other people do, I don't feel like "my life is over if I don't get those shoes/phone/etc". I don't want things, I want experiences and even more than that I want to learn from them because that is something that no one can ever take away from me.
So not everything was all bad, I had a friend that took me in and made space for me in his apartment so that I could move in. I'm still very ME in a sense where I don't need to plan my whole life but I've learned to prioritize things. I have come to the conclusion that all I really want is to have a good time, and the best way to do that is to travel and getting out of my comfort zone.
So here are some pics from when I went to Finca Tatin (back in June), a long lost hotel found in a remote location (only accesible by boat). I had been to this place before but never like this, I am horrible at swimming (more like I don't know how to swim) but I still jumped into the water. I also did a little kayaking, went into a "temazcal" (mayan sauna) and met a bunch of new cool people.
A few things to consider if you're planning on visiting:
- I would recommend making your reservation through Booking (never had problems with them)
- There's no need for you to pay for anything in advanced (not even your reservation) until you're ready to leave this place
- They are very trustworthy and they'll give you the responsibility to write down whatever you took (water, breakfast, dinner, kayak) in a notebook and later you'll get charged. Please be honest and don't fuck it up, it's a very cool system.
- The "Apartment with sea view" is the best room ever, there isn't a sea view (don't know what happened there) but a river
- If you really really dislike bugs, this isn't the place for you
