I don't usually dress up so much, I know I've said it before and I'll say it again: I love simple, sophisticated, expensive looking outfits. What I mean by this is that I always try to make the illusion that the pieces I am wearing are far more expensive than they actually are. The way that I usually accomplish this is by picking well made and designed clothes and accessories. I don't wear that much makeup nor jewelry, but when I do it is because I've found an exceptional piece that quickly becomes the most important part of my outfit.
So, I attended a cocktail party a few days ago (which I will be telling you more about on my next post) and the invitation read "dress to impress". Naturally I had no idea what to wear, since I usually don't attend this type of events. Eventually I came across this Escarlata necklace that I felt it had a medieval air to it and that's what I loved most about it. I may sound a little silly but every time I attend a fashion event, it feels like a battle against my closet (I have nothing to wear, nothing ever fits me quite properly, I hate this and that). But this necklace, you see, it's a winner against any battle because I feel like I can wear it anywhere and any look will standout by just putting it on. Anyways, I paired it with this ring, also by Escarlata (will also be posting more about them very soon).
About this dress, it was very inexpensive (like I paid $5 for it, UO sales), it has a nice flow on the bottom and small cut outs on the sides that look far more interesting than your typical little black dress.
